Technology Section
Though not a systems administration guru, I do have experience in maintaining large networks. I have set up OpenBSD firewalls for both internal and external security, managed networks of several hundred workstations, migrated hundreds of workstations to new software suites, established quality of service (QoS) rules from custom router firmware (Tomato, etc…), and troubleshot networks on every layer. Below are a few of my experiences in this area.

Network Support and Systems Administration
• Transitioned over 400 computers from Microsoft Outlook to Mozilla Thunderbird. Repaired computers all over campus. Provided network support for all dorms. Designed interactive CDs for deployment of anti-virus and VPN software to include interactive tutorials for campus network users. Gained some higher level network administration experience with regards to ip-less OpenBSD firewalls and DNS servers.

Computer Training and Support Services (CSU Weber Computer Lab)

Lab Technician
• Trained Help Desk staff in assisting students with lab facilities. Provided general support to the entire campus with regards to using any Colorado State University computing service or facility. Repaired computers for students and professors. Maintained the lab network and machines, to include 50 Macs and 80 Windows XP PCs. Assisted in the deployment of security measures and password authentication on the network. Designed and deployed the CTSS website and logo, which is still used as of this writing. Installed LAN adapters and client / server applications on hundreds of computers.

• Flash Utility Drive: I have a small USB drive which I’ve modified to boot the Ultimate Boot CD. On another I partitioned off several logical drives and can boot Windows XP or Linux and can also use it as a general diagnostic tool in either OS even when it is not the active partition. I’ve found these custom tools to be extremely effective for troubleshooting huge numbers of systems quickly.

 Additional Information
I have also set up networks for small business generally comprising of an OpenBSD Firewall, mail server, file server, and shared workstations. I have done a fair number of home networking setups which included home automation equipment, scheduling interface, amplified wireless antennas, QoS rules, and centralized entertainment and home control servers.
